10 Things I Always Keep in My Cleaning Caddy

Cleaning is an essential part of our daily lives. It’s been said that a clean home is a happy home, and I could not agree more. But cleaning can be a daunting task if you don’t have the right tools at your disposal. That’s where a well-stocked cleaning caddy comes in. It helps to have all your cleaning supplies in one place, making the task more manageable and efficient. So, here are ten things that I always keep in my cleaning caddy.

1. All-Purpose Cleaner

An all-purpose cleaner is a must-have in any cleaning caddy. This versatile product can be used on a variety of surfaces, from countertops to floors, making it a very efficient tool. I prefer using a natural all-purpose cleaner, as they are less harmful to the environment and gentle on the skin. Some brands even offer refillable options, which helps reduce plastic waste.

2. Microfiber Cloths

Microfiber cloths are another essential item for any cleaning caddy. These cloths are super absorbent and can be used to clean a variety of surfaces without leaving any lint behind. They are also reusable and long-lasting, making them a more sustainable option compared to disposable cleaning wipes.

3. Sponges

Sponges are perfect for tackling more stubborn stains and grime. I always keep a few different types in my caddy – a soft sponge for delicate surfaces like glass and a more abrasive one for tougher tasks. Remember to replace your sponges regularly to avoid bacteria buildup.

4. Rubber Gloves

Cleaning often involves dealing with harsh chemicals and grime, so it’s essential to protect your hands. I always keep a pair of durable rubber gloves in my caddy. They not only protect my hands but also provide a better grip when handling wet surfaces.

5. Scrub Brush

A small scrub brush is a powerful tool for tackling stubborn grime and dirt. It’s especially useful for cleaning grout lines, around faucets, and other hard-to-reach areas. Look for one with a comfortable grip and sturdy bristles.

6. Glass Cleaner

Streak-free windows and mirrors add a sparkle to any home. That’s why I always keep a good quality glass cleaner in my caddy. Choose one that not only cleans but also helps to repel dust and fingerprints.

7. Disinfectant Wipes

In today’s world, it’s more important than ever to keep our homes free from germs. Disinfectant wipes are a quick and convenient way to sanitize surfaces. They are perfect for high-touch areas like doorknobs, light switches, and remote controls.

8. Duster

Dusting is one of those tasks that many people forget, but it can make a huge difference in your home’s overall cleanliness. A good duster can reach those hard-to-reach places like ceiling fans and bookshelves. I prefer a duster with a long handle and a washable head.

9. Trash Bags

Having trash bags in your cleaning caddy is a game-changer. It’s so much easier to have them on hand when you’re in the midst of cleaning, rather than having to stop and search for them. I prefer using compostable trash bags as a more eco-friendly option.

10. Essential Oils

Last but not least, I always keep a few of my favorite essential oils in my cleaning caddy. They are a natural way to freshen up your home’s scent after cleaning. Just a few drops in your mop water or on your duster can leave your home smelling fresh and clean.
