12-Foot Skeleton Gets a Bluetooth Voice Upgrade in Home Depot’s New Halloween Lineup, and It’s Not Even the Creepiest Thing on the Shelf This Year

The Home Depot’s 2026 Halloween lineup landed online on July 16, with the biggest names in its yard-haunting collection now controllable from a phone, and the retailer is rolling the collection into physical stores starting late August, according to The Home Depot’s own newsroom release.

The headliner is a refreshed 12-foot Giant-Sized Skelly, priced at $299, which now pairs its signature size with real-time Bluetooth voice modulation controlled through an app, letting owners record up to 30 custom sounds and cycle through 20 different LCD “LifeEyes” effects. Aubrey Horowitz, The Home Depot’s decorative holiday merchant, said in the release that “we are constantly inspired by the inventive spirit of the Halloween enthusiast community, and their year-round passion motivates us to push the boundaries of innovation in our collection each year,” pointing to Skelly’s “real-time, app-controlled voice modulation” as this year’s standout addition.

What’s Included

Every one of those pieces carries a price tag under $300, a detail The Home Depot has leaned on since Skelly first went viral as a splurge that still undercut competitors’ animatronics by hundreds of dollars. The 2026 additions push that same value pitch toward interactivity rather than just size — the Rotwing Parrot’s “conversation,” for instance, runs off pre-set responses rather than true voice recognition, but it’s enough to fool trick-or-treaters expecting a static prop.

What Consumers Should Do

The lineup keeps The Home Depot in the seasonal decor arms race it helped create when the original Skelly debuted in 2020, a category now crowded with competing giant skeletons from rival retailers. For a category that used to mean static plastic pumpkins, “under $300 and it talks back” has become the baseline pitch.
