If you’re planning to sell your home, you might be wondering how you can increase its value and appeal to potential buyers. After all, homebuyers are not just looking for a place to sleep, they’re looking for a place they can call home. And while certain features (like a great location or good school district) might be out of your control, there are many things you can do to make your property more enticing.

The key is to focus on the features that homebuyers actually want. To help you out, here’s a list of 12 home features I added that buyers couldn’t resist.

One of the best ways to attract buyers is by reducing the future costs of running the home. Energy-efficient appliances not only reflect a modern, upgraded home, but they also promise lower utility bills, which is always a plus. I replaced old appliances like the dishwasher, refrigerator, and washer/dryer with Energy Star-rated models.

In addition to saving money on utilities, these appliances also have a smaller carbon footprint, appealing to the environmentally conscious buyer. The cost to upgrade may seem significant, but the return on investment when selling can be substantial, especially as more and more buyers prioritize energy efficiency.

2. Hardwood Floors

Hardwood floors are a timeless feature that never goes out of style. They’re durable, easy to clean, and they add a touch of elegance to any home. When I decided to replace my carpeting with hardwood floors, I noticed an immediate increase in interest from potential buyers.
