Planning a wedding usually takes months—sometimes years. One bride says nearly all of that planning collapsed overnight after a shocking phone call from her wedding venue.
In a TikTok video that quickly drew attention online, creator @stephasaurex explained that the venue she booked more than two years ago recently told her they accidentally double-booked her wedding date, leaving her scrambling to find a new location just weeks before the ceremony.

The timing couldn’t be worse: invitations have already gone out, guests are traveling from out of town, and the wedding is less than two months away.
A Venue Booked Years in Advance
According to the creator, she secured the venue roughly two years ago for an April 24 wedding date.
Like many venues, the contract required a final payment about 60 days before the event, which she recently completed.
But just a few hours after sending that final payment, she says she received an unexpected call from the venue’s accounting team.
During that call, she was told something didn’t look right in their system.
“They said they didn’t have a date set for me,” she explained.
At first, the accounting staff believed the issue might be related to something she did months earlier.
A Call That May Have Caused the Confusion
The bride recalled contacting the venue last November to ask about possibly moving the wedding earlier.
She explained in the video that she is currently undergoing cancer treatments, which had made her wonder if an earlier ceremony might make things easier.
However, when she asked about moving the date, the venue reportedly told her it would require paying off the entire balance immediately and starting a new contract with a fresh deposit.
Because that didn’t make financial sense for her at the time, she said she quickly called the owner back the same day and told them she would keep the original April 24 date.
She assumed that meant everything remained exactly as planned.
The Double Booking
According to the venue, the issue appears to have happened because the date was accidentally left open in their system after that earlier conversation.
As a result, they later booked another couple for the same day.
When the accounting team reviewed the schedule after receiving her final payment, they realized the mistake.
The owner reportedly told her he didn’t understand how the error happened and expressed sympathy for the situation.
Still, the reality remains the same: two couples are scheduled for the same wedding date.
Starting Over With Less Than 60 Days
Now, with the wedding less than two months away, the bride says she is effectively starting over.
She explained that she is searching for a new venue and possibly new vendors, something that would normally take months to coordinate.
The situation is even more complicated because invitations have already been sent, and family members are traveling from different places to attend.
Sharing the story online, she asked viewers if they knew of any possible venues or ideas that might help salvage the wedding plans.
“I’m open to anything at this point,” she said in the video.
Online Reactions
The story quickly sparked strong reactions in the comments.
Many viewers questioned how the venue could make such a mistake after two years of planning and a completed final payment.
“Booked for two years and fully paid up?? They absolutely can’t do that to you,” one commenter wrote.
Others argued that the venue—not the bride—should be responsible for fixing the situation.
“This is not a you problem, this is a venue problem,” another person said.
Some commenters also questioned why she would be the one searching for a new venue when the other couple was booked later.
“You booked two years ago, so by right the other bride should need to find somewhere else,” one viewer wrote.
Amid the frustration, a few people also offered suggestions for alternative venues and ways to salvage the big day.
For now, the bride says she’s still trying to figure out what comes next—after a single phone call turned two years of wedding planning into a last-minute scramble.
