Dollar Tree Shoppers Spot A $1.50 Pet Slow-Feeder Insert Similar To A $5.85 Walmart Version, Then Start Checking Which Other Bargains Are Actually Worth It

Dollar Tree is rolling out a fresh round of new products this fall, and one of them is turning heads for a very simple reason. A $1.50 pet slow-feeder insert looks a lot like a version that sells for $5.85 at Walmart.

The find comes from a deal-hunting video by @thedealguy, who walks through what he calls the top 10 things to buy at Dollar Tree this October 2026. He says the sheer number of new arrivals made it possibly his best Dollar Tree video yet.

The slow feeder suctions into a pet’s food bowl and encourages the animal to chew, which he says improves digestion. Same product, he says, but nearly four dollars cheaper.

The Same Pet Insert Costs $5.85 At Walmart, But Only $1.50 Here

For anyone with a dog or cat that gobbles dinner in about four seconds, the slow feeder is the headline item. At $1.50, it costs roughly a quarter of the Walmart price he quotes.

It is one of several pet items on his list. He also points to flashing light collars at $5 that he calls a simple safety upgrade for dogs once the evenings get darker, helping them stay visible near roads and driveways.

Walmart Wants Almost Nine Bucks For The Same Dishwasher Bags

The kitchen section is where he finds his second big price gap. Brand new dishwasher bags are designed to keep smaller items from getting lost or tossed around during a cycle, whether that is bottle pieces, straws or small utensils.

He says the exact same product at Walmart would run you almost nine dollars. Nearby he spots glass carafes at $1.50 that look ready for water, iced tea or holiday drinks, plus fridge storage bins at $1.50 with room for fruit, veggies or leftovers.

Glass Oil Sprayers At $1.50 Feel Far More Premium Than The Old Plastic Ones

He calls these a first of their kind for Dollar Tree. They work for olive oil or salad dressing, and he says they help you avoid some of the added chemicals that can come with traditional cooking sprays.

The new Sterilite mini totes are also $1.50, in black with a yellow lid or an unusual pink. He says the size feels right for DIY supplies or small garage essentials.

Powdered Laundry Detergent For $1.50 Covers 25 Loads

Laundry fans get a treat in the form of a clean and free powdered detergent at $1.50. The package gives you enough for 25 loads, and it is marketed as similar in formula to Molly’s Suds, a brand he describes as far more expensive.

He also likes the new two-pack Swedish discloths, featuring characters like Garfield and Stitch. They are super absorbent and reusable, he says, and they can replace a lot of the paper towel you would otherwise burn through on everyday spills.

A $1.25 Foaming Toothpaste Beats A $10 Two-Pack On Amazon

In the beauty section, he calls the pearly white foaming toothpaste at $1.25 a steal. By his math, a pack of two would cost $10 on Amazon.

Other beauty picks include a HydroGel face mask with hyaluronic acid and ceramides in packaging that looks awfully similar to a Neutrogena version, plus 8-ounce DermaSeal body creams at $1.25 in almond, yuzu or vanilla. He even flags a pack of 36 glow-in-the-dark acne patches for $1.25.

Dollar Tree Plus Items At $5 And $7 Come With A Few Catches

The pricier Dollar Tree Plus section is where his enthusiasm cools off a little. A cordless vacuum for only $10 was selling out quickly, but after testing it he found the suction power pretty underwhelming.

The 16-inch wireless soundbar is $7 and he calls the price excellent, though the two-hour battery life means you may be reaching for the charger before the game is over. A smart tag at $5 works with Apple Find My or Android FindHub, and a bedside reading light at $5 has a removable magnetic base that suits books, crosswords or late-night reading.

Seasonal Finds Start At A Dollar, Just Like The Old Days

Halloween decor is marked at just a dollar, the price that first brought him through the doors years ago. Christmas is already arriving too, including LED window candles and mini Christmas trees at $1.50 that he says are worth grabbing soon considering how quickly they sell out.

A $1.50 gingerbread house kit comes with pretty much everything you need to build a tasty home with the kids, which he calls one of his favorite ways to recover from Black Friday. Candy-themed piggy banks, including Tootsie Roll, Double Bubble and Junior Mint designs, might help kids save their pocket money.

How To Tell A Real Dollar Store Bargain From A Gimmick

A low sticker price only helps if the item gets used. Before you fill a basket, ask whether it replaces something you already buy, such as paper towels, cooking spray, laundry soap or toothpaste.

Compare the per-load or per-ounce cost with the name brand, the way he does with the 25-load detergent and the two-pack of toothpaste. Items you buy repeatedly, such as detergent and cleaning cloths, tend to save the most, while novelty gadgets that sit in a drawer do not.

Test anything electronic soon after buying it so you can return it if the performance disappoints, as he found with the vacuum. And if a new arrival is seasonal or popular, remember he says some of these items sell out quickly, so the best deals may not last.
