A Murphy bed marketed as a fix for cramped bedrooms is now under recall after two separate owners were hurt while it collapsed on them. The recall covers FUFU&GAGA wall beds imported by Ningbo Tianqi Electronic, and the danger shows up specifically during setup or takedown rather than everyday use.
How the Injuries Happened
Per the CPSC’s recall notice, the bed’s 215-pound frame “can fall onto consumers, posing deadly impact, crush, and laceration hazards” when the unit isn’t anchored to the wall during assembly or disassembly. One consumer sustained a laceration, a bruise, and a fractured growth plate in a finger; another needed eight stitches after a laceration to the face. Both injuries occurred while handling the frame, not while the bed was folded up and in normal use.
The affected model is a white wood-frame, queen-size wall bed, model number KF210284US-01MH-A001, standing about 86 inches tall and 65 inches wide. Roughly 250 units were sold through Home Depot and Lowe’s websites between January and April 2025 for around $550 each, a relatively small batch compared to some furniture recalls, but the injury reports came from a fraction of that number.

Ningbo Tianqi, based in Denver, is offering a full refund paired with a free disassembly kit that includes the tools, brackets, screws, and instructions needed to safely take the bed apart without repeating the same injuries. That kit matters because the hazard is tied directly to the assembly and disassembly steps, so owners handling this on their own without the right hardware are the ones most at risk.
