CPSC’s notice ties the hazard to two design issues working together: the hanging restraint straps can come loose or wrap around a child’s neck when a jumper or swing is used without a caregiver close by, and the seat openings are wide enough that an infant can partially slip through, raising the risk of both a fall and strangulation in the same product. Each affected unit was manufactured in China and imported by Taleco Gear, based in La Verne, California.
What Parents Should Do
- Stop using the jumper or swing immediately and move it out of children’s reach.
- Contact Taleco Gear for a full refund by emailing TalecoGearRecall@163.com or visiting talecogear.com/recall, referencing recall number 26-688.
- Follow the company’s instructions to destroy the product and submit photos of the destroyed parts, which is required before a refund is processed.
- Check any secondhand jumpers or swings already in the house against the model numbers and colors above, since hand-me-down and resold units won’t come with a recall notice attached.
Families who bought directly from Taleco Gear’s website, or through the Amazon and Walmart listings named in the recall, can check their order history against the April 2021 through July 2026 sale window to confirm whether their unit is affected. The company has not disclosed how many of the 41,100 recalled units have been returned so far.
