Neighbor Keeps Her Door Open With Loud Music Blasting, So The Apartment Hallway Trash Gets A Rotten Chicken Upgrade For The Weekend

It was a typical Friday afternoon when one neighbor decided she had seen enough. Every time she went into the hallway, the door across from hers was wide open, blaring loud music, and she didn’t know how to handle it anymore. The noise was unbearable, and the sight of her neighbor’s casual disregard for personal space felt downright disrespectful. After a long week, something had to be done.

With frustration bubbling over, the neighbor took an unusual approach. Instead of knocking on the door or asking politely, she found a rather creative way to make her point. She had some old chicken in her fridge that was well past its due date. Instead of tossing it in the bin inside her apartment, she decided to take it out and throw it in the hallway trash can, located just ten feet from the offending door. The plan was simple: the trash would sit there all weekend, and the smell? Well, that would do the convincing for her.

The pungent odor started to creep into the hallway almost immediately. As the weekend rolled in, there was no staff around to clean the common space, and the neighbor found out just how quickly something rotten could make itself known. The stench filled the corridor, and it didn’t take long for her neighbor to notice. With music still blasting, the door that had previously been wide open was now firmly shut.

People had very different reactions to the neighbor’s bold move. Some found it hilarious, admiring the creativity behind the act of petty revenge. They could almost see the satisfaction on the neighbor’s face as she watched the sound of loud music turn into the quiet of an enclosed apartment. Others felt that it was a bit over the line. Some pointed out that while the noise was annoying, responding with rotten chicken might not have been the best solution.

Several commenters brought up alternative tactics that could have been employed. Instead of resorting to smelly means, they suggested simply reaching out and asking the neighbor to close her door or to tone down the volume of her music. But it seemed to the neighbor that she had already tried that route. The continual opening of the door while the music blared had left her feeling unheard and ignored.

As the weekend dragged on, the smell only intensified. It turned the hallway into a battle zone of sorts, where petty revenge met the aftermath of a poor choice in poultry. Some people chimed in with their own stories of neighborly disputes, sharing experiences of loud parties and unsolicited noise complaints. This situation struck a chord with many who had encountered similar frustrations in their own living situations.

In the end, it was a little act of defiance that turned into a tangible result. The loud music ceased, but was it worth the smell? The question lingered in the air as others weighed in on the ethics of the stinky choice. Would a more straightforward approach have sufficed? Or was this just another example of neighbors taking matters into their own hands—albeit with a rotten twist?
