Seven high chair brands sold through Amazon, Walmart and Costway.com have been hit with federal recalls or safety warnings within roughly the past two years, and nearly all of them cite the same underlying defect: a gap between the seat and tray, or the seat and the chair’s side panel, wide enough for a baby’s head to slip through and become trapped. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s most recent action against Bicystar landed February 26, 2026.

- Harppa 5-in-1 Convertible High Chairs (Model BHC001), sold on Walmart.com, flagged for a missing restraint system and a head-entrapment gap between seat and tray.
- Babimoni Multifunctional High Chairs, flagged for tip-over risk, non-attached restraints, tray detachment and entrapment gaps.
- MJKSARE High Chairs, imported by Worldwide Windows and sold exclusively on Amazon.com, recalled for entrapment and fall hazards.
- Funlio Convertible High Chairs, sold by Ecogoods, recalled for fall and entrapment hazards.
What Parents Should Do
- Check the model number printed or stamped on your high chair, usually on the underside of the seat or tray, against the CPSC links above.
- Stop using any matching chair immediately, even if nothing has gone wrong in your home yet — this is a structural design flaw, not a manufacturing fluke limited to certain units.
- Contact the manufacturer listed in each notice for a refund, replacement parts or repair kit; several require photos of the destroyed restraint strap before they’ll process reimbursement.
- Register any new high chair purchase directly with the manufacturer so you’re notified automatically if a recall follows.
- Before buying a budget high chair online, search the exact model number at cpsc.gov/Recalls first. Several of these models are still listed for sale under nearly identical names and photos.
