A teenager’s rant about a disastrous hair appointment is getting attention online after she described what she calls a complete “hairstylist horror story.”
In a viral video, TikTok creator @xoxobl4ckbarbi3 warned viewers not to book a stylist she identified as “Caramel Coney,” claiming the appointment spiraled into a frustrating and humiliating experience that ended with her getting kicked out of the shop before her hair was even finished.
@xoxobl4ckbarbi3 @. DO NOT BOOK HER !!!!! #Tampahairstylist #fyp #foryou
The creator walked through the entire appointment step by step, explaining how a routine booking turned into hours of waiting, tension with the stylist, and ultimately leaving without her hairstyle done.
Arriving Early to the Appointment
According to the creator, she booked a 10:40 a.m. appointment for a curly slipover style with the hair included.
She says she scheduled it early in the day because she had work at 3 p.m. and wanted enough time to get her hair done beforehand.
Wanting to be punctual, she arrived around 10:22 a.m., roughly 20 minutes early, after her grandmother dropped her off.
But when she walked into the shop, she says she immediately felt uncomfortable.
The salon was located inside a barbershop filled mostly with men, something she said made her uneasy while trying to get ready for a hair appointment.
When she approached the stylist to ask about her appointment, the creator says the interaction was already tense.
She asked whether the stylist might be finished with her current client early since she had arrived ahead of schedule.
The stylist reportedly responded by asking what time the appointment was booked for. When she answered 10:40, the stylist allegedly told her she would be done “around then.”
Even at that moment, the creator said she doubted that timeline because the stylist’s current client was only partially finished.
Waiting Even After the Appointment Time
The creator left briefly and returned at 10:40 a.m., the time of her scheduled appointment.
However, the stylist was still working on the previous client.
She says she sat and waited until around 11 or 11:15 before finally being called to the chair.
The delay already frustrated her, especially because many salons charge clients late fees if they arrive even a few minutes behind schedule.
Eventually, the stylist began working on her hair, starting with braiding it down in preparation for the quick-weave style.
But the creator says the process felt rough and uncomfortable. She described the stylist as heavy-handed and rude throughout the appointment.
Stuck Under the Dryer
After braiding her hair and placing a wig cap, the stylist sat her under a hair dryer.
What was supposed to be a short step quickly stretched into a long wait.
According to the creator, she ended up sitting under the dryer for close to an hour while the stylist was away.
Meanwhile, the clock kept ticking toward her 3 p.m. work shift, which had been the reason she booked the appointment early in the first place.
As the heat from the dryer grew uncomfortable, she eventually sent the stylist a message asking if she could come out because it felt too hot.
The stylist allegedly waved her off and told her to stay under the dryer because her hair was still wet.
Eventually she was brought back to the chair so the stylist could continue the installation.
The Moment Everything Fell Apart
The appointment ended almost immediately after the stylist began the next step.
According to the creator, the stylist glued in just one track of hair before suddenly asking if there was a problem.
Caught off guard, the creator says she told the stylist there wasn’t an issue and that she simply wanted her hair finished.
But the stylist allegedly responded by saying that if there was a problem, she could wash everything out and end the appointment.
That comment pushed the situation over the edge.
The creator says she told the stylist to simply remove the tracks and that she would leave instead of continuing the appointment.
At that point, the hairstyle had barely begun despite hours spent in the salon.
Leaving Without the Style
By the time she left, it was already around 12:40 p.m., and she still had to figure out what to do with her hair before going to work later that day.
She said the experience left her feeling frustrated and embarrassed, especially because she had been excited to finally get her hair done after going a long time without it.
The creator also criticized what she described as unprofessional behavior during the appointment, including long waits and rude communication.
Online Reactions
The video sparked plenty of debate in the comments.
Some viewers sympathized with the creator and said they understood her frustration with salon delays and poor communication.
Others pushed back on parts of the story.
One commenter argued that being about 30 minutes behind schedule shouldn’t necessarily have caused her to be late for work.
Another viewer joked about the moment the stylist waved her back under the dryer, saying that detail stood out the most.
Many people also turned the moment into a broader discussion about salon experiences, with one commenter writing, “And this is why I do my own hair.”
Whether viewers took her side or not, the story struck a nerve with anyone who’s ever walked into a salon expecting a quick appointment—only for the entire day to unravel once they sat down in the chair.
