15 Items I Always Keep in My Linen Closet

When it comes to home organization, the linen closet is often overlooked. This small space, however, holds major potential for storing essential household items. A well-stocked and organized linen closet can streamline your daily routines and make household tasks more efficient. Whether you’re a home organization pro or a beginner looking for inspiration, here are 15 items I always keep in my linen closet.

1. Extra Bedding

Bedding is a linen closet staple. I keep at least one extra set of bed linens for each bed in my home. This allows me to change the bedding without worrying about doing laundry right away. I also keep a few extra blankets for those colder nights or when I have guests.

Storing extra bedding in your linen closet is not just practical, it also helps extend the life of your linens. By rotating use between sets, you reduce wear and tear. Organize your bedding by room or bed size to make it easy to find when needed.

2. Towels

Towels are another essential. I always keep a good supply of bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths. Like bedding, it’s a good idea to have at least one extra set for each bathroom. Additionally, I keep a few beach towels for those spontaneous trips to the beach or pool.

Remember to replace your towels when they start looking worn or don’t absorb as well. And, like with bedding, rotating your towel stock helps extend their life. I like to organize my towels by type and color. It not only looks aesthetically pleasing but also helps me quickly find what I need.
