She Faked Her Age on a Dating App, Rushed Me Into a Relationship, and Ended Up in Bed With My Hairstylist

A woman said she is finally ready to tell the story of how a whirlwind relationship with her ex-wife unraveled into betrayal, dishonesty, and one especially personal affair she says she never saw coming. Looking back, she now sees red flags from the very beginning, including lies about age, intense emotional swings, and a relationship that moved far faster than it probably should have.

According to her, she was 22 when they met and started dating, while her future wife was actually 31. But she said that was not the age she saw at first. On the dating app where they connected, the older woman had listed herself as 29. The lie only came out a couple of weeks later, after the two had already started building a connection. When confronted, the older woman reportedly explained that she changed her age because she thought too many people would filter out anyone over 30 and she wanted a better chance at meeting someone.

At the time, the younger woman said she was bothered by it, but not enough to walk away. Now, though, she sees it differently. What once felt like a small strange detail now looks much more like an early warning sign. Starting a relationship with a lie, even one dressed up as a practical dating app trick, can say a lot about how someone handles honesty when it matters.

She also said her future ex-wife was fresh out of a long-term relationship when they met, which may have been another sign that things were not as settled as they appeared. Even so, the two moved quickly. She described the romance as fast and intense, with both of them acknowledging strong feelings almost immediately. In her words, it was one of those relationships that escalated before either person had really taken the time to ask whether they should slow down.

That pace became even more confusing when the older woman briefly tried to end things. According to the story, she told her that she felt too strongly and did not think she was ready for that level of emotion. The younger woman said she accepted that and backed off, only to get a text just hours later saying the breakup was a mistake. Not long after that, the woman who had pulled away asked her to officially be her girlfriend.

Even in that moment, there were signs of instability. She remembered asking if her now-ex was really sure, pointing out that she had almost dumped her just a couple of weeks earlier. Still, the relationship continued, seemingly propelled by intense feelings and the hope that the uncertainty was just part of falling hard for someone new.

What makes the story feel especially painful in hindsight is how these early mixed signals now seem to fit into a larger pattern. A lie about age. A dramatic push-pull dynamic. A relationship moving at full speed before trust had really been earned. When people tell stories like this after the fact, there is often a moment where they can finally see that the betrayal did not start with the cheating. It started much earlier, in the little moments they talked themselves into overlooking.

And in this case, the eventual betrayal hit in a particularly brutal way. She said her ex-wife cheated on her with her hairstylist, a detail that turns an already painful breakup into something even more personal. Infidelity is devastating on its own, but when it involves someone from your own orbit, someone you trusted enough to let into your space and routine, it adds another layer of humiliation and shock.

From the way she tells it, this was not just the story of a marriage ending. It was the story of realizing that the person she built a life with may have been showing her exactly who she was from the beginning. The dishonesty, the instability, and the emotional whiplash were there early. She just did not yet know where they were heading.

Now, with distance, she seems to be revisiting the whole relationship through a very different lens. The things that once felt easy to excuse no longer seem so small. And when the cheating finally entered the picture, especially with someone as unexpectedly close as her hairstylist, it likely forced every earlier red flag into sharper focus.
